T-321 STAINLESS STEEL CONSTRUCTION

Exhaust headers operate in an extremely demanding environment where repeated heating and cooling cycles place substantial stress on tubing, flanges and welded joints.

XS-POWER uses T-321 stainless steel construction in this header system with upgraded TIG welding and CNC-machined flanges to provide the strength, heat resistance and durability expected from a serious performance exhaust component.

4-1 PERFORMANCE HEADER DESIGN

The factory exhaust manifold must collect exhaust gases from each cylinder and route them into the exhaust system. A performance header is designed to provide a more efficient path for those exhaust gases.

This XS-POWER system uses 1-5/8-inch primary tubes feeding 2-1/2-inch collectors, providing a performance-oriented exhaust path for the LS1 and LS2 powered Pontiac GTO.

Depending on the vehicle's complete intake, exhaust, tuning and engine configuration, improved exhaust flow can contribute to better throttle response, stronger performance and a more aggressive exhaust note.

IMPORTANT LS-SERIES PLUG WIRE NOTICE

Header installations on LS-series engines require proper spark-plug wire clearance. Spark-plug wires must not contact the header tubes.

Depending on the vehicle and plug-wire configuration, different or high-temperature plug wires, boots or routing may be required to maintain adequate clearance from the headers. Heat damage caused by plug wires contacting the header tubes is not considered a header defect.

INSTALLATION

Designed as a direct-fit header application for the listed Pontiac GTO configurations. Professional installation is recommended.

Before final installation, verify exhaust clearance, spark-plug wire clearance, gasket alignment, fastener torque and the condition of the remainder of the exhaust system.
