⚙️ ADJUSTABLE SPRING SYSTEM
Different turbocharger and engine combinations can produce different manifold vacuum conditions. This valve includes multiple springs plus an adjustment shim so the valve can be configured for the particular turbo system.

NOTE: Spring selection should be based on the actual vacuum characteristics and configuration of the vehicle. Using the strongest spring is not automatically better. The valve must be able to open correctly during throttle transitions.
HOW A TURBO DIVERTER VALVE WORKS
When a turbocharged engine is producing boost and the throttle suddenly closes, pressurized air remains between the turbocharger compressor and throttle body. Without an effective bypass path, this pressure can travel back toward the compressor wheel and contribute to compressor surge.
A properly configured diverter or bypass valve opens during this transition and redirects the pressurized air away from the compressor. In a recirculating system, the air is returned to the turbocharger intake tract.
This makes a properly functioning turbo diverter valve, compressor bypass valve or recirculation valve an important component of many factory and aftermarket turbocharger systems.
